It began in January 2008 when we first visited Southern Sudan.

We found a country devastated by years of conflict; little or no infrastructure; people attempting to rebuild their country.

We also found some of the most welcoming people in the world - business people keen to hear everything that you bring and children full of smiles and laughter.

We are determined to help in whatever way we can, and so roots has been born.

Our aims include:

• Assisting and developing new initiatives to support the rebuilding of the business community
• Developing initiatives to support all aspects of the education of young children
• Building relationships between business and education professionals in Sudan and the UK and other countries

We want to work with local people to create and support initiatives in order to create and build sustainable communities.
